* If you haven\u2019t already done so, establish a four-year academic plan to meet all core course requirements.<\/span><\/p>\n

* Take a strong academic course load.<\/span><\/p>\n

* Maintain good grades, preferably A\u2019s and B\u2019s in your core courses.<\/span><\/p>\n

* If you are struggling, take advantage of tutoring, online, and other services to improve academic performance and grades.<\/span><\/p>\n

* Continue with community service hours.<\/span><\/p>\n

* Register for the NCAA Clearinghouse\/Eligibility Center.<\/span><\/p>\n

* Start prep for the SAT\/ACT and\/or take the SAT\/ACT for the first time.<\/span><\/p>\n

* Talk with your coach about opportunities to increase exposure in your sport.<\/span><\/p>\n

* Attend summer\/sports camps, and for exposure, select camps at colleges that you might want to attend.<\/span><\/p>\n

* <\/strong>Meet with your coach\/trainer for a thorough evaluation of your athletic ability and, hopefully, an honest recommendation for an appropriate level of competition. Be realistic.<\/span><\/p>\n

* Videotape your games.<\/span><\/p>\n

* Keep records of your athletic achievements, extracurricular activities, etc.<\/span><\/p>\n

* View college athletic websites. Most have a simple questionnaire you may fill out and email to the coach.<\/span><\/p>\n

* Also view college athletic rosters to see number of athletes graduating, potential positions available, and trends in recruiting (area, high schools, leagues).<\/span><\/p>\n

To understand any of these processes, such as the NCAA Clearinghouse\/Eligibility Center, SAT\/ACT Tests, etc., read through The Right Fit Guide<\/a>.
